Frequently Asked Questions
Answers to the most common questions about our products, orders, certifications, and distributor program.
Products
What shank type do GooDent contra-angles use?
GooDent contra-angles use the standard ISO E-type (2.35 mm) shank, which is compatible with the vast majority of dental handpiece motors from all major manufacturers. The ISO E-type is the global standard for contra-angle attachments, so GooDent instruments fit into existing setups without any adapters.
Are GooDent instruments autoclavable?
Yes. All GooDent handpieces and contra-angles are rated for steam autoclave sterilization at up to 135°C. We recommend following your autoclave manufacturer's standard dental instrument cycle. Routine lubrication after each sterilization cycle will maintain optimal performance and extend instrument life.
What is the maximum RPM for GooDent high-speed turbines?
GooDent high-speed turbines are rated for operation up to 400,000 RPM under no-load conditions, with a recommended working range that aligns with standard clinical practice. Actual operating speed under load depends on the air pressure delivered by your dental unit — typically 2.2–2.5 bar is recommended for optimal performance.
Which bur sizes are compatible with GooDent handpieces?
GooDent contra-angles accept standard ISO friction-grip (FG) burs with a 1.6 mm shank diameter. High-speed turbines accept FG burs with a 1.6 mm shank. Our low-speed motors and straight attachments accept HP burs with the standard 2.35 mm shank. All shank tolerances conform to ISO 1797-1 specifications.
Do GooDent instruments come with a lubrication kit?
GooDent handpieces are shipped pre-lubricated and ready for use. Routine maintenance lubrication spray (standard dental handpiece spray) is recommended after every sterilization cycle. Any ISO-compatible dental handpiece spray is suitable — GooDent instruments do not require a proprietary lubricant.
